Default Front defroster, what temp settings it takes for warm air?

The other day I had to use my front defroster to clear the windshield. I did noticed that warm air was only coming out once I had both temp settings at 80 degrees or above. If one is set to 79, no warm air would come out of the front defroster vents above the dash. I drove a 06' A4 for a couple of weeks and in that car, warm air would come out with the settings above 76' and no matter which settings the passenger was left on, warm air was still coming out. Could be possible that my climate control is acting up or this is normal for my car?

Thanks

Default I've kinda noticed the same with mine >

I keep both my settings between 73>76 degrees and have never noticed hot air coming from the window vent(defrost); the air is usually slightly warm from that vent but not hot. However, I haven't played with different settings to find where the warmer air begins and thus far it seems fine.

Default Do you have it on auto? Also I have found you have to hit the defroster button in addition to

having it set to auto...then it will send to windshield regardless of temp setting.

You can direct the airflow using the floor/face/windscreen buttons in any combo, too.
