I have a related question which I don't think I have to create a new thread for. How much should an indy shop charge for replacement of both front springs with Arnotts? I got an estimate for $800 in labor from the local one. That included both replacement and 'calibration', whatever that means.

Save on your labor cost. You don't need a "Lift" to replace them. Just some sturdy jacks.

Arnott has youtube videos, which you can replace them yourself. I did my drivers side before.

Calibration???!!!
What a joke!
You need a new indy. If he's doing this to you on the airbags, he's doing it on every job he does for you.
I really hate scammers.

I was going to replace them myself, and have already done it. I just called the local shop out of curiosity, and posted here because I couldn't believe what they said.

He also said that there would be 'alignment issues' using 1 stock and 1 Arnott spring. Different rates, he said. I did make sure to specify it was a gen 1 spring. I have a feeling he was just trying to sell me another hour of labor for $300.
