Default Full-body paint or two tone?

I'm ordering an AR 4.2 and killing myself trying to decide whether or not to get the full-body paint. I'm looking at either light silver with the full-body paint or the atlas grey with the two tone. I initially wanted the full-body paint but am worried it will just look like an A6 Avant. (Looking like an S6 would be good) The 18's make it look "fast" but the two tone makes it look off-road'ish. I'm not sure how the two will look together. Anyone have a full-body paint AR or have seen one? Any good pictures of the full-body paint I can look at? I will take any input you all might have.

Default I think a FB Atlas would look veeeerrrrryyyyy nice...

Although FB Silver is nice as well. I bought mine in 2003 and wish I could have gotten FB at that time.

Default If I get another allroad...

...meaning, if I get to 100K or so miles before they stop making them, I'll get a full-body silver one, I think. With the 18" wheels, it would look really sharp. And I think we all know they're not true off-road vehicles anyway. HPH

Default Re: Full-body paint or two tone?

My 4.2 with Atlas FB paint will be here in 4 weeks. I was also concerned about it looking too much like an avant, but the wider stance, side trim and heftier front/back-end should make for a unique muscular look. Go for it!

Default Hmm. You know I think ABT makes wider flares for it

They look really sweet, I can't remember if it is ABT or another tuner, but you could take it two-tone and add those, and have the bumpers and new sides painted together.

I don't know if the full paint pkg from Audi includes the roof or not, or whther they paint the entire bumper or everything but the 'rub' areas, per earlier show pics.

Personally, I'd get two tone and order the wider flares (only slightly wider, stock-looking, but they do the trick to make the stance more aggressive) and have the ENTIRE bumper surfaces painted and the flares at teh same time. I'd leave the roof with the flat finish as I really think that is a good utility feature.

You will also want some spacers with the flares (they're a pkg deal probably) to move the wheels out a bit.

That's my .02 - have fun!

Default If they do they are not allroad specific, but interesting they sell their wheels with 20mm spacers

ET35 get 20mm spacers.. Hmmmmm

Appears 7.5" et30 receives a 5mm spacer

all 8.5" ET 35 wheels receive 20mm spacers

and
the 9" ET35 wheel doesn't ship with spacers

but there is a 9" et32 wheel that they ship with 20mm spacers as well. FUNKY

http://www.abtsportsline.co.uk/cars.php3?screen=wheels&make=1&model=12

Default I would skip both those colors and get something that has color now that you have a choice

blue full paint...

Atlas with full paint..

light silver, 2 tone.

But I don't particulary like when the allroad lighter colors are fully painted, there is a decent gap with our type of flares (unlike the nice S6 flares that are molded, ours are bolted on)
