Default Uhhgg. That sucks, but...

I have been amazed at what a good body shop can do. Since you can't go back in time and move the car, you might as well just take it to a good shop and assume that they will return the car to "pre-accident" condition.

I've been much more impressed by my body shop than the Audi dealer. (I know this isn't really saying much). When I go to the dealer I feel I need to do a 360 degree walk around when picking up the car becuase of the chance of damage. I always do my own quality control checks to make sure that fasteners are not missing or caps loose or stray tools/equipment left behind. With the body shop they seem to really care about the cars and they always come back to me in better than pre-accident condition do to a quality detailing (not the muddy wash bucket and grease and brake dust filled drying towels like at the dealer)

Default I hadn't thought of how my comments made me sound :-0

I've been behind wheel in only one accident and it was not my fault. Some idiot in their cell phone booth (Camry) rear ended the allroad. Also my Corrado has been in for non-accident related work over the years (10 years old and 155,000 miles.)

Over the years I have used the body shop for:

1. Rear ended in allroad. New bumper, bumper support, paint, trim, etc.

2. Hit and run to my Corrado right in fromt of my house.

3. European spec front bumper and spoiler added to Corrado.

4. Corrado hood re-sprayed due to years of rock chipping and a small amount of rust.

5. Corrado door repaired due to rust from many years ago in Budapest, Hungary when someone jammed a screwdriver under the door handle attempting break-in.

6. Corrado dropped off at bodyshop for a visit by the "Ding Dr." to make years of parking lot door dings disappear.

7. And back in 1997 my brother-in-law was behind the wheel of my brand new BMW 328i Sport when we hit black ice in Connecticut. This was a big hit on a guard rail with $7500 damage, but the repairs were so good that I never noticed any problems and the guy that bought the car had his mechanic inspect it and never even had a clue that it was in an accident. I told them it was, but didn't elaborate on the severity. This is the real incident that caused me to be amazed at how well cars can be repaired.
