Default Gear box trouble

Does anyone have the same trouble? I have an Audi A6 quatro all road, the car was doing ok and then it started shuddering and jerking like kangaroo petrol. I took it to a mechanic and he suggested it could be dirty gearbox filters. I had a full gearbox service and that seemed to work.
Then about 2 months later the computer started throwing up a fault code severe clutch slippage but could Cary on driving. I took it to a gearbox specialist and he stripped it down couldn’t find anything wrong so redid another service. When he test drove it he got a knock in the gearbox on Second gear, so stripped it down and thought it might be the machtronic, put a new one on took it for another test drive and still a knock coming down from 7 to 2nd gear. Anyone got any ideas or came across this problem?

What gearbox do you specifically have?

I know some of the boxes have issues with the Mechantronic unit and have similar symptoms

I guess you'm talking about automatic transmission. I had in the car the exact same symptom and it came from the torque converter clutch. ( TCC ) To remove and install the TCC in the car, I was charged $ 250. The expert who refurbished the TCC clutch charged me $ 100.
