Recently swapped my old denisonusa icelink which did not work well (o with iphone and ipod 160gb (you had to toggle modes ipod ui/rns-e cd controller, switch car off, back on, real pain and no longer worked)

with a gromaudio device (allows immediate use of the ipod/iphone ui) and works on the cd channel of the radio (haven't fussed with playlists or advancing thru songs on the ipod)
of course there's still no song title display

It was pretty cheap, under 100
you need another audi adapter cable to split one of the harnesses again

The actual device is pretty large, could not re-seat the navplus with all the other harness

so I popped off the back of the box and still haven't seated 1 side of the navplus, gave up

Since the head of the supplied cable it an iphone male and I wanted to keep ability for it to be dumb and accept rca or 1/8 input
I also bought an extention cable (similar to svideo/ps2 in size)

I can now swap between the two, not that there has been a need to, so far

Note it comes up with the not compatible message on the iphone3g, but hit no and ignore

Also not that it occasionally has had problems and not worked made the iphone flicker between charging and not charging , crashing the iphone. I'm politely battling with the vendor, Alisher, about this

vendor is being less than helpful
at this point. I'd stay away from it
Sometimes it works, other times, it causes the iphone to flicker between charging and non charging modes
vendor is denying any responsibility
I've posted a vid on youtube showing the malfunction...

I see the same issue with cheap ebay 12v usb lighter adapters
They are rated at 750mah, but still fail when iphone is 1/2 discharged or more
The griffin usb adapter is rated at 500mah and works no issues

The grom works ok with an older 160g ipod, assume because it takes less current
