I got my ECU back today with a new socketed board and it works perfectly. Thanks to Ed @ Induktion in Md for his fast actions in getting me back on the road before the weekend is up. They are having a 5% off on GIAC software right now.
Car is much improved over stock as suspected. It seems to lack a bit of the low end grunt from my A6 with the MTM chip but pulls harder to redline with the GIAC.
Waiting for a my S-Flow intake because it was coming from California, but hopefully it will give me a few more ponies.
The socketed chip on the ECU with the plastic carrying case for my stock ship seems pretty slick. I will just have to be careful not to bend or break off any of the pins when swapping back and forth.

Give it a day or 2 to adapt and you might notice some changes in power delivery. I'll keep you posted on the S Flo parts. Thanks for your patience.
