Default Giant breed dog owners

Will my Great Dane fit in the back of an allroad? How about an A6/S6 Avant..same trunk space?

Allroad is an A6/S6 Avant with some external and mechanical changes. Same interior

Newfy fits no problem (165#). Your Dane is probably taller, though. Bring him with to the dealer.

Default Bigger than an '03 Passat Variant?

My dane is only 4 months old right now - I don't know how big he is gonna get. He fits just fine in our Passat GLX 4MO wagon right now. Is the allroad trunk bigger than the passat?

Default You'll probably run into headroom problems

(or rather, the dog will) because of the angle of the rear hatch -- it's more raked than that of the Passat. If you put the rear seats down, or at least half, then I think you'd be okay.

Yes it will. My bitch is 36 inches at the withers and she fits in the back. It's pretty cozy but doable. For longer trips, she greatly prefers having the rear seats folded down. Fortunately the pet net still works in this position.

In my old A4 she used to rub her back all over the headliner which made for a cleaning nightmare.

Default mine is a pretty big german shepard/akita mix

and headroom is really only the only problem.

Also search for my earlier posting about the hatch entry-way and my pup's issues hopping in.

Default I agree, but think there is a little more room back there than in the passat

also like veloAR's idea, bring the dog to the dealer, or on a testdrive stop by home to see if the pup fits.
