Default Goodyear F1 GS-D3 comments on S4 board

Interesting in that he comments most on compliance and comfort. This, along with high performance, are important factors for the allroad IMO since it really isn't a sports car in the first place.

I hope to get my mounted to the car tomorrow.

I just thought I would throw this up here since tires are a frequent converstation piece around here.

https://forums.audiworld.com/s4/msgs/1565048.phtml</a

Default hopefully that doesn't mean soft sidewall.........

the P-Zero Rosso's I had were more comfortable at the same pressure as my S03's but I had to run up to 5psi more in the Rosso's to get the same kind of turn in as the S03's and I punctured the sidewall on the Rosso's. Big heavy cars need stiff sidewalls or lots of tire pressure unless you are only cruising along in a straight line.

Default I'm sure it means SOFTER sidewall. The S-03s are apparently an extremely stiff sidewall.

personally I have been running high pressure in my allroad since day 1. I have seen more tire life than most on the forum as well.

In any case, I'm looking forward to giving these Goodyears a shot.

Default The SO3s in lower profiles have a very stiff sidewall.

I can count the pebbles in my driveway in the S4.

Thanks for the post. I'll be looking for more comfy tires than Pilot Sports to battle Ohio potholes.

Default Speaking from experience...

I have an 01 S4 with the F1's ...Great tires in the summer...but my sense is that AR people might be looking for some more "all around" performance. If snow is in the forecast...avoid the F1's. They are downright dangerous, even in a little snow.

On the flip side...they are awesome in the dry and the wet. I have snows (LM22's) on now but looking to switch back (stock size) soon.

Default These are 3 season tires for me.

wouldn't think of running them in winter. Will put dedicated winter tires on OEM wheels.
