Default Got sucked down the dark RNS-E path. Wanted a clean XM install and just bit the bullet.

Won one of the eBay RNS-E units. Not too bad at $690 with shipping. Most were going for well over $800. (UPDATE: Make that $660. I chose the cheaper shipping option, not the 2 day air.)
I was going to just up to a Symphony II with Satellite, but knew I would be left wanting. I did like the idea of having the CD changer in the Symphony II unit, but the Nav outweighs that.

Default Sounds like a pretty good price...

faced the same scenario, but I was worried about spending $1200 or more. Settled on just adding oem xm unit and icelink ipod connector with custom TeddyBgame cord. The oem XM unit is on ebay for $99.

Default $99 for the "A" version. "A" doesn't work with RNS-E. Need "E": rarer, more expensive...

still prob about $150-$200. We'll see. Got a bid on an "E" auction now. Glad I researched that. Almost bid on an "A" version.

Default Definately. I've already started reading up on all the navi mat'l. From your comment...

I assume some of those pre-supplied harnesses have been a problem?

Also, I noticed in one of the write-ups, they thanked you for your help in their install (the fellow with the lemon '03 AR and sold it). In it he mounts the GPS antenna behind the instrument cluster with apparently no reception issues. Do you recommend that over running the cable back to the OEM GPS roof antenna listed on the navi site? I have that on order currently and just got a 'E' version OEM XM tuner.

Hmmm, what else is left? How about the cable/harness from the XM tuner to the RNS-E unit? The XM tuner mounts in the back somewhere right? That'd be a pretty long cable.
