Default H-Sport allroad bars are a reality!!! Details inside....

OK. Finally, the last details are complete.

PRICE- $325 INCLUDING shipping (is that better Milpitas?)

NUMBER OF SETS IN BLACK- as many as they get orders for in the first (and only) run. They will do as many in black as we order on a prepaid basis.

HOW TO GET ON THE LIST- I have emailed Hotchkis a list of all of you who have expressed an interest via AudiWorld and through email. The $325 price will be for those whose name is on the list. For those who have already emailed me, I've sent a confirmation email to you. For those who have not either emailed me or posted their confirmation on the AW post from 7/16, respond below.

WHAT TO DO- Starting later this afternoon, call Hotchkis to place your order.
Talk to:
Wesley Nielsen (562)907-7757 Pacific time

Wes will take your order (that means $$) and bounce that against the list of email addresses and AW screen names I gave him. As soon as he is comfortable that he has gotten orders for all the black sets that are needed, they will run the bars through the powder coat process. That process is not scheduled to take place until probably the 1st of August since they are still bending the rear bars.

Note- This is a one-time run of black bars. Mark Hotchkis and Wes have agreed to not limit the size of the run, but to run as many as we are willing to ante up for. But once the run is done, it's done.... No more black.

We may need a new forum just for the volume of PSK bars I suspect will be for sale very soon.

This is an early pic of the kit. It is the old rear configuration, but represents what you get for your hard-earned $$

Default You da man... Nice job on this.

One suggestion would be to have a cut of date for paying hotchkiss - just incase of slackers. =)

Default Thought of that but...

we really have a couple of weeks with a soft date of 8/1. If Hotchkis tells me that they haven't seen a bunch of orders by the end of next week, I'll probably send another "reminder" with a hard date.

Default A question about the "adjustable" rear bar ...

Can you explain (or point to an existing explanation) this feature? What does the adjustment control and how is it adjusted?

Thanks again for getting this together. Anyone want a PSK rear bar ... cheap!

Default Answer about adjustable rear bar....

On the stock bar, there is one hole into which the drop link bolts.

On the H-Sport rear bar, there are 3 holes. So there are 3 different stiffnesses available to choose from. In essence, the stiffer a rear bar is (in relation to the front) the more oversteer you will have. Or, the more the rear of the car wants to come around.

Front drive cars tend to understeer because of all the weight on the front end. To offset that we stiffen the rear bar. Think PSK. that is 3 mm larger, thus stiffer, that the stock wimpy rear bar. What did it do? Reduced the understeer, or push in the front end.

Will everyone want the rear bar full stiff? Not likely for the street. But when autocrossing or going to the track, may want to stiffen the rear a bit. Though I will likely install my rear bar in the middle of the two settings initially, just to see.

Tradeoff- as you stiffen the bar, you will give up some of the compliance of the suspension under certain conditions.

Default will they continue to sell this bar (in whatever color) in the future?

Or is this my one-and-only chance? Ya see, I want them but I kinda just got a '03 GSX-R 750 for my second anniversary, so I'm in no position to be asking for more goodies.
