Default Has anybody purchased wiper blades for 2002 allroad? Where?

I ordered 2 sets of wiper blades PIAA and OEM from clair parts. Both do not fit. It seems like wiper blades for 2001 and 2002 models are different. I know they are free at the dealership but do not want travel.

Thanks in advance.

There is apparently a change from '01 to 02 models. The '01 uses a simple blade insert that replaces the worn blade. This is common to many '01 and earlier VW and Audi vehicles.

The '02 Allroad uses a replacement "cartridge" that is easily attached to the blade arm. The cartridges sell for $25 at Audi dealers. I am not aware of any aftermarker equivalent.

I have a 2002 Allroad (obviously under warranty). The delership replaced the blades at no charge. Assuming you are under warranty as well, your dealership should replace them at no charge. They have done this on all my Audi's.

This is covered by the warranty for the first 4 years. You are responsible for tires, glass and gas.

Default My dealer's parts dept wants $32 for blades alone!!

I have a 2001 ar with high milage and the car is out of warranty. I can't believe what they want for blades. They'll install them for $6 more. That's why I keep saying that once you're out of warranty you're going to have to take out a second mortgage.

Yes, they ARE different.
The 2001 has the standard 'hook' insert.
The 2002 has an uncommon mounting.

Bosch has them as
Bosch Aerotwin A016S 2 X 22" (550mm) front windscreen twin pack slider type fitting flat wiper blades

Spot on....thanks for updating this... 10 years later !!

Actually, today, the OE wipers from online vendors like genuineaudiparts.com are cheaper than aftermarket wipers.... I get the 01' OE wipers for about $15 each...vs. the $20+ for Bosch Ikons (which I use in the winters).

P.S. if you are in chicagoland area, northside auto has good prices on their wipers and parts in general.
