Heated Seats and Steering Wheel question

I have had my 02 ar for about 4 months now and just had it in to the dealer for its 15000km scheduled maintenance. At the same time, I asked the dealer to check the functionality of the heated seats - front and rear, and the heated wheel. The steering wheel gets lukewarm at best. On the drivers seat, I only set the heater control to 1 because the seat gets so hot after about 10 minutes that I have to turn it off. With the passenger seat, my wife usually sets the heater at 5 to start then adjusts it down to 2 or 3 after awhile and is comfortable with that setting. One of the rear seat heaters doesn't appear to work at all and the other needs to be set at setting 6 to get any heat at all. The dealer checked the functionality of all the seat heaters including the steering wheel and has stated that all heating elements work as intended. They don't know what else to check and are going to call Audi Canada for further assistance. Has anybody else had a similar experience with an "imbalance" in the seat heaters?

The steering wheel only gets warm. You cannot control the temperature.
The front seats seems balanced to me. However, mine does not get unbearable when the setting is at 1.
The back seats are weight sensitive. I think over 50lbs will do it.

this appears to be a general complaint. My '01 allroad seat heaters are much warmer and have less granularity than my 99 A4. With the allroad, anything above a 3 will all get the seat hot and 1 is the only workable level for longer term. On the A4 you could set the temp at nearly any level and feel a difference in temp.
My steering wheel does heat up to a decent temp.
let us know if your get anywhere with this

Agree completely with your assessment - with the A4 the perfect setting after 10 minutes is "2" whereas with the allroad setting "1" is about all I can take once everything warms up. The passenger seat seems to be about the same, and the back seats need a higher setting and take a little longer, it seems, to get warm.

Maybe they've gotton better, but the seat heaters on my '02 work perfectly. I usually set them at '3' and forget it, at below-freezing or above-freezing temperatures. The steering wheel heats up nicely, too. It seems to get warmer the colder it is. However, maybe I'm just lucky because I've read many complaints about this in the forum.

Usually leave mine at 2. If it's cold maybe set to 5 or 6 for a bit. Wheel gets warm, always comfortable. Still pretty new but very happy with the way the heating works so far.
