Maybe you're smarter than my two service departments, one being New Country Audi in Creenwich, CT, and the other is Paul Miller Audi in Parsippany, NJ.
My "Check Engine" light has been on since April and neither dealer can get it to stay off. They've each reset it numerous times but it keeps going back on. It once stayed off for two days but it went back on again. Both dealers' service departments say that it's ultra-sensitive and that I should ignore it.
Any thoughts people?
Thanks, Mark

Crappy fuel could be it. And BTW if your dealer can't figure out the codes they're either:
a) incompetent
b) don't care
c) lying to you about the cause

I experienced the same thing. My "Check Engine" light would go on and then a few days later it would go off. This went on for a few months. The dealer reset it once and the problem persisted. Finally my light would never go out. They finally figured out the problem. It had something to do with the catalytic converter. The ended up replacing it a month ago and the "Check Engine" light never comes on anymore. I don't know the specifics of what the problem was, but I do know my light never comes on.
Not sure if your problem is related to mine, but it bugged the hell out of me for a long time.

All the above were considered back in the Spring and none seem to be the cause. They've run dozens of diagnostic tests and have come up empty-handed. At least the guys at Paul Miller are nice and are willing to reset the light every time I drive by even though it goes right back on when I leave.
Allroad, I don't think the lemon law would cover this.

(refer to your state law) eligible especially if it's emmissions related or is significant. . You don't want to get stuck with a 50K vehicle that nobody wants to to pay fair market price for (this is usually a critirior for 'lemon lawing' it.). Check out the link below - I assume you are from CT. I think you might qualify.
I know that in some states you can't even pass an emmissions test with the check engine light.

http://www.lemonlawamerica.com/state_laws/connecticut.htm</a

Thanks! I feel like I have some leverage now. (Not that they're not willing to help, eight or nine techs haven't been able to figure it out yet.)
