Default Help! I need a 2001 suspension control module (I think)

Hi folks,

The back end of my 2001 audi allroad is sagging and the mechanic tells me I need a new suspension control module (part number 4Z7907553H). Apparently it looks like it will take 10 days to get the replacement part. Does anyone know how to get a hold of a used part? Can I just disconnect the module and will the suspension then go back to a normal level?

Thanks!

George

Just did a quick search and I heard BBA-reman sells re manufactured modules. Anyone try one of these?

Default there are a couple of places that will re-program them for you. I have one in my garage that's bad

that someone could use as a core. A new one is $$$ (~600$). I was lucky and found one used. Allroads are rare in wrecking yards, but you can try that route. I found one for an -02 in CT at a yard for $85. Google CT auto salvage. A lot of them have online search functions. I was told an 01 is unique though b/c of the "manual" function. Not sure if one from a later one will work or not.

I guess my question is, do you have a suspension fault light on in the dash? Also, is your compressor running? If one is no, 2 is yes, then it's not the suspension module.

Thanks for your help!

The dash light is on, but I don't hear the compressor. The light next to the level one indicator is one and blinking. I think the system is trying to raise the car, but I don't hear the compressor.

Can I simply disconnect the module and will the car then go to some sort of default level?

Thanks!

Default no. I don't think it'll do anything. The light is blinking because the rear is beyond the limits of

the sensor. You might need rear bags too. Is it down on both sides or just one?

also, try editing the subject line to make the forum easier to read...

Default They are all remanufactured, is what I was told by reputable parts mgr at reputable dealer.

Did you try carson at riverside audi or genuineaudiparts.com Craig is no longer there as I understand but they still have great prices and great service. Good luck...I wouldn't move it with it like that any more than you have to as the ESP also doesn't work when the ECU is out of wack. Trust me I know due to a really bad drive in slick weather.

Default you won't be able to see anything externally if it is the control module. It gets a bad checksum

fault in the memory and it's kaput. I have my old one in my garage if someone wants it to send off as a reprogrammed spare. The compressor will not work if there's a fault in the box.

BTDT.
