Default Oil pressure warning

Hi again. Fortunate to have found a mechanic who has owned four Audis including two allroads. Did a bunch of work, all four suspension air bags, timing belt, valve cover gasket, The persistent problem is the oil pressure warning. They have replaced the sensor twice, the second time with an OEM part from Audi. They say they think the pressure is fine. The warning comes on much less often, but not completely gone. It is coming on only briefly then going out. The mechanics have also noticed a small oil leak I think they said the front cam end cap. Has anyone else experienced problems with this warning system? Would a small leak be likely to trigger it? Oil level is checked regularly. Thanks

I have had that problem twice, and it was never the oil pressure. The electrical wire that senses the oil pressure is running up and passes the left driver side valve cover on the front. IT is fairly simple to identify. It a single line. There is small connector just to the right of the left side valve cover facing the front. You likely have a bad connection and it can cause the alarm to go off.
Check the wire and connector, either can have been damaged during the valve cover gasket replacement. Another option is that oil, from your leaking engine, and soiled the connector attaching to the oil sense. That happened to me once, which drove me to replace my valve cover gaskets.
