Default Hmmmm. Likely CV shaft joint problem.

Sounds kinky but probably very expensive.
I have a 2004 ar and I hear a noise when I come out of a turn (usually a left turn). I suspect I need a new CV shaft joint. Any idea what it will cost with labor? Is it recommended that I have it done by an Audi dealer who will charge much more than the local foreign car shop?
Thanks all.

Does it sound anything like this? (Don't mind the clicking/rattling sounds those are from my bike that was in the back)

Default Thanks for getting back guys

It sounds a little like that but not as loud.
Thanks, too, for mentioning the wheel bearing. Will have that checked out as well.

Crank the wheel all the way to the left and back in a circle (after you make sure you're not going to run over the neighbor's kid). Outer CV joint noise will be very noticeable, if it's bad.

Bearing usually howls at highway speed, but I guess it might not always do it.

Raxles is a good place to get axles (personal experience, no kickbacks). Rebuilt CV joints are probably not going to last very long, due to the nature of the hardening on the parts inside the joint, so if you're going to keep the car, go for new joints.
