Default home link question

I just picked up an '04 AR. wow. what a machine. anyway, i'm trying to program the home link garage door button in the visor and i'm not having much luck. i've followed the manual, but when i press the button after i 'program' it, it just flashes rapidly. anyone else have this problem? am i doing something wrong? thanks for any help!

Default you probably have a "smart" garage door opener.

You have to press the button on the back of your garage door opener....

Watch the training video here...

Default Re: home link question

if you've followed the procedure according to the manual and it still doesn't work, your garage opener may have a learn or program button that you would have to press while programming the homelink. i believe once pressed, it will stay activated for 1-2 mins to give you time to do your programming.

this happened to me and i couldn't get mine to work after having programmed it successfully several times. turned out it was the opener at my new house and not the homelink.

That's the "rolling code" feature of the opener, I think. T

Wow! Where were you guys last weekend when I was trying to make sense of the manual in the dark!

Finally got the garage door connected to the '01 AR. The 'learning' button wasn't nearly as obvious on the 10 yr. old garage door unit as it is in the video. Just a grimey black button on the back...

Oh well.. I'm just glad to have it done

Default Yep, i had to do that on mine

it's a two person job as one person has to hit the button on the opener and the other person has to hit the button in the allroad.
