How bad are the stock tires?

I don't mean to offer that the Allroad is comparable to the S4
I am just concerned that the ESP is either engaging a bit prematurly, or that the tires are completely lame. I only offer the S4 statistic for comparison (I have taken that same curve at over 70 in the S4 without esp engaging).
Good points all about the pressure. I will check it out. I am not quite the auto buff that many of you are here. I appreciate the opportunity to buy a nice car and assume it is pretty sweet off of the floor. As much fun as all of you make modifying a car sound, I would screw it up royally.
I still have no idea what "402" means.
