How do you gentlemen like your Nav. system?

Re: Good, but not perfect. . .don't pay!
My dealer seems to have the latitude to acquire an update for customers at no charge. . .we got two of them "gratis."
As we have noted, my wife and I have purchased over 2 dozen Audis since 1978 from the same dealership -- maybe we received special treatment.
But I see no reason to pay for an update unless you keep asking for them over and over -- I waited a year and got the latest and greatest.
Also completely agree -- one DVD sure would be nice.

I haven't paid for updates, just for new CDs for other areas
I recently bought the whole US...will be interesting to see if they will provide a free update to the whole set. I think it's 12 CDs or so. So far the updates to the CD I got with the purchase of the car have been free of charge.

I'm sure you are right
I guess I meant that for the price, I would want the bling bling factor.
I've also been accused of being a 'visual person.' I guess those years in Engineering School molded me.

I've got a Garmin Street Pilot III and it's great..
if you look on the tech articles section of AW, there's an article on how to "mount" it on the cup holder.
I wasn't about to pay extra for Audi's rudimentary system that doesn't even have a color display or map.

I love them. Once you've tried them to truly find your way
somewhere you'll wonder how you got by without it. I'd prefer to get a full color map but the Audi system is very easy to use. I love the controls on the console where you can rest your hand and enter your route. After a couple of uses you don't need to look at the controls at all. You can quickly glance at the screen without taking your eyes off the road for too long.
