Default How does one get at the O2 sensors?

Looks like mine are bad per VAG COM fault code (Internal Resistance Too High). Are they anywhere near the BPVs?

maybe (probably) a dumb response but I thought the 02 sensors were on a recall...

Default They're on the downpipes(exhaust). Search the S4 forum.

There's a VW part that's 1/4 of the cost. It'll work if you splice on the Audi connector. S4 install should be about the same as allroad.

Default My car is going in tomorrow for service

I have Bailey BPVs in the car now and have new 710Ns sitting in a box. I've decided that its probably best to go with the 710Ns because I'm paranoid. I haven't switched them yet because I'm lazy. If the dealer will be staring at my Baileys tomorrow during service of my O2 sensors I'll probably go to bed late and just switch them now. What do you think, will the dealer be working anywhere near the BPVs?

Default I believe O2 sensors are pulled and installed from below.

The connectors are on the bulkhead behind the engine, at the top. Your BPV's shouldn't be in anybody's face.

Default Which ones? THere are two pair.

Each side has one before cat and after. They are referred to as B1S1, B1S2, B2S1, and B2S2. B and S stand for Bank and Sensor respectively.

Removing or installing the pre-cat sensors (S1s)in the allroad requires a oxygen sensor socket (with split in side to accomodate wiring) and a really long extension. You attack them from above and diagonally from either side behind the engine.

I haven't messed with the post-cat sensors, but I'm sure you have to get them from the bottom.

Default B1S1 and B1S2....I think

I put the car in this morning. I assume they'll check for any code and this will come up. I hope its pre-cat because I have a cat-back MTM and I assume they might get testy.
