Default OCI

I think it depends on your driving habits and other factors. I am an average driver, mostly stop and go highway driving, aprox 70mi a day, I use Audi's maintenance schedule for plugs and replace my air filter every 30K. I have been sending my oil out for testing and just got my last sample results back from a 9.2K mile run and the oil was fine. I need to post the results. I am using GC with a Mobil 1 M1-204 filter.

Default What happened to Mobil 1 0w-30 synth? Can't find it anymore.

(Sorry about the dupe post on the July 1 thread. This thread is fresher.)

You should be running M1 0w-40 not 30 in our cars. See Mobil's website they updated the oil finder.

Default Mobil's website recommends 0w40 now, but what does Audi say?

Anybody here have access to a technician who would know?

I haven't asked Audi yet, but, IIRC from my Audi Owner's Manual, I am supposed to put in 0w30 (or maybe 5W30) into my 2004 ar 2.7L V6.

I can already immagine the conversation with Audi Service Advisor next month:

Me: Turbo Lady came to visit this weekend at 20K miles on the odometer. Can you please fix this under my bumper-to-bumpter warranty?

SA: Hmmm...Sounds fishy. What kind of oil are you running?

Me: I just changed to Mobil 1 Synth 0w-40.

SA: That's not the Audi-recommended viscosity. You are hosed! Bwah ha ha ha ha ha ha......

Me: But...but...Mobil 1's website said it would be OK.....

SA: ....ha ha ha ha ha....

I actually would prefer to buy 0w40 Mobil 1, as that is also what my sedan takes. Would simplify my garage inventory situation.
