and drive aggressively, (when there is no snow)
I'm thinking down the road. Instead of going with winters and summers. Just spending the $$ on the Nokians and keeping them on all year.
I've heard they do get a bit spongy on hot summer days, which will shorten the life.

And never came across a reasonable set of wheels to put snows on.
WR's seem to have great longevity. I'm in PA where we have to get annual safety inspections, and my Falken 512's had to be replaced at one year. So last year I put the WR's on, and they still look great. I am due for inspection next month.
Will say that they don't have the sporty feel though.

I had issues with the tires (18s) and was never that fond of them. When I thought about the $1K I dropped on them I felt really burned. Would never do again. I know I am the black sheep of the herd on this one, but my thinking was exactly yours.

For the allroad I went down to 17s with Pirelli Pzero Nero M&S that have been great and I got them for $275 on ebay brand new. You just can't beat that. Take the other $775 and put it in the bank or towards a better mod.

I bought a new set of Nokian Hak at 60% off. The Wr are not warrantied for 80K Km anymore, now only 50K Km. Overall they were very uneventfull......still don't know what I will buy for this spring/summer?

I got the 17" Rs6 wheels from myroad, with his used nokian wr tires and they are good. I can imagine how good they would be they had more tread. But for now they are fine. I can always go back to the Falkens, but Im ready after 3 or 4 sets to try something else.

my Goodyear Eagle GS-D3s (ultra high performance) and are capable of taking corners as quickly as the Eagles (for street purposes - not the track!), but I don't feel as confident with them when driving hard.
Overall, they're not bad tires, but it depends on your priorities. If you need good snow traction and you want all-seasons, the WRs are good. If you want adequate snow traction but better all-year handling, get a good high-performance all-season tire.

Not bad for normal driving but didn't work well for spirited runs. I will have the same issue since the summer tires were trashed when I purchased the 3Ds. Not sure I want to spend the money on summer tires when I actually switch cars for 70% or more of the time.
