Default How much for an alignment

My original Pirelli Allroad tires just wore out at 19k and I replaced them with Kumho's. The outside treads of my front tires had the worst wear, so I'm thinking I should get an alignment. The tire shop where I had the wheels installed did not do alignments. So...
1) Am I better off getting this done at Audi or am I okay going to a reputable tire shop?
2) About how much does it cost these days?
3) Anything special I need to know about alignments on Allroads (besides locking the suspension before it goes up on the lift)?

Default Just got a coupon for $130 from Audi

If it's better or not I can't say but for me it's one less stop that I need to deal with so I had them do it

Default My last one was $60

at Stan's alignment in Denver.

no need to lock the suspension as the car keeps the weight on its wheels when on the alignment rack.

Default what level do you get the car aligned at?

I mostly drive in level 1, would it better to get an alignment with the car in that level?

Default from what I have been told

when the dealer does an alignment they can only do it in Level 2. the dealers's alignment system is hooked up to their vag system and automatically places the car in 2 for the alignment. Going to an independant alignment shop, they do not hook up to the ECU and they can align it in whatever level you choose. For my last one I had it done in 2 because it was quickly approaching winter time and I figured I'd be out of L1 more often than not. If I need a new alignment before summer I would likely have it done in Level 1.

Default My dealer did the alignement at all 4 levels. They gave me a print out of the results in all 4

levels.

I was pretty impressed, it was color and had graphics and everything. It showed the tolerances and how close each corner was at each level.

All mine were very close (green on the printout) at all four levels. I wished I saved it for a scan ... sorry.

But it was also bout $120 iirc
