Default HP2 brake sensor having more than one shape? not certain search will get this answer:

Shopping on RockAuto.com for pad prices for the S6 - same HP2 system on both my allroad and the S6 - and found these intriguing references to an Oval and a Round sensor. I never used this brand before, and never considered this fact, so I just thought to ask here. I note that the Mintex, PBX and Beck-Arnley option offer Round sensor male ends and some with Oval, too, making me more confused having never considered the matter. I'm guessing round, but what say you?

MONROE Part # DX839 {Monroe Dynamic Pads (***Monroe Spring Brake Rebate -- $15 for One Set, $30 for Two Sets of Brake Pads. See More Info for Details.***)}
FRONT; 4WD; Quattro Series; 2 Pads w/ Oval Male Wire Wear Sensor; 8 Piece Set; OE Replacement Recommendation.; Includes Wire Wear Sensor.

$76.79 $0.00 $76.79
MONROE Part # DX839A {Monroe Dynamic Pads (***Monroe Spring Brake Rebate -- $15 for One Set, $30 for Two Sets of Brake Pads. See More Info for Details.***)}
FRONT; 4WD; Quattro Series; 2 Pads w/ Round Male Wire Wear Sensor; 8 Piece Set; OE Replacement Recommendation.; Includes Wire Wear Sensor.

BTW - that's only about $62 after rebate for HP2 Pads, compared to $105 on my last discounted OEM buy for the allroad from Craig's web. I wonder if these Monroes are any good as an OE type replacement pad? I usually don't skimp on brakes, but brands like Monroe, Bendix and Wagner (Federal-Mogul) are OEM vendors with OEM quality in many cases, even if not for Audis.

Default More insight

I reviewed the legendary S4 HP2 replacement instructions under Tech Articles by Morgan Evans(85-4kq-girl) and found OVAL sensor connections. Hmmm.
I'll have to take a hard look up under my car, or actually remove a wheel I guess, unless someone knows the rule for this HP2 question based on their many years of experience that obviously far supercedes mine.
Thanks.

Was just digging around down there this morning. I know my HP2's have oval sensor fittings as well.

My S6 has oval ones, too.
