Humming noise in rear

Humming noise in rear
While driving my allroad, I regularly hear a dull
noise (sounds like a small electric motor humming)
coming from the passenger side rear of the car.
It comes and goes. Is this a function of the
suspension or am I alone on this? Thanks!!!

Sounds like the compressor but it is located on the driver's side.
If the noise is coming from the pass. side, I'm not sure what that could be. I hear the compressor occasionally but usually have the stereo on so I don't notice it.
