I know my hearing is really great but on a long drive with the wife's ar yesterday I can hear the cylinders working at any speed. The car only has 11K (o4 model) miles on it. I hear it very faintly with the stereo off. Maybe I should just keep the radio on. Anyone else with this?

as rpm changes. I'm not a motor-head so I don't know if it's the cylinders or pistons. Oil level is fine. It almost sounds like a very low diesel sound at all rpm.

if it is too loud it could signal a problem with oil pressure or a chain tensioner.
The chain can be louder upon cold startup at times as oil pressure has not built up yet but this is normal operation.
If you are really concerned about it take it in to get it looked at but be prepared to pay someone for an hour of their time to tell you everything is normal.
