Default I was hoping someone could tell me that these wheels with an offset of ET52 will fill the allroad

I called audi parts today and they stated that the wheels were 9x19 ET52 5x112. What size spacers would I need to get these to fit? Or is this just too much to overcome?

Default I'm thinkin w/ some 30mm spacers you would be lookin sharp [edit]

with 30mm spacers you would be an extra 12mm outside edge of the wheel which I know will work... But there would also be 26mm LESS from the inside of the wheel to the strut housing, not sure if that will clear... It seems like 35mm spacers would be better but I have never seen spacers wider than 30mm...

But I'm no expert... wait for Ed.

what do those run from the dealer? can't be cheap...

Default Are 30mm too much?

I just want to be sure that things will ride smoothly with the spacers if I go this route.

Dealer quoted me $440 ea.

Default IMHO, yes.

Personally, I wouldn't put on any spacer bigger than 15mm.

Default Why not?

I think if your using hubcentric spacers to keep the stock offset I can't see why 20-30mm would be worse than 15mm?

As long as they are hubcentric I don't see why it would matter...

The ones that I know cause problems are the simple 3-5mm ones that have no lip...

Default I'm definitely not the resident wheel expert, but ...

according to my calculations a 9" wide rim with an offset of 52mm would result in 46mm LESS inner clearance to the strut housing when compared to the stock 7.5" wide rim with an offest of 25mm. Based on that calculation you would need something in the neighborhood of a 40mm spacer which I'm not sure is even available much less recommended.

Time for our good friend Ed "The Wheelman" to chime in.

Default big difference....

you are not only dealing with the space from the struts, but the added leverage to the longer bolts and the geometric forces on the hub/hat itself.

You are heavily changing the geometry of the wheels. While it can mathematically work (clearance) the question is how safe is it?

Default Okay, what about the OEM 20" in this article, instead?

I think the offset is 45 on the 9x20", and the article does not mention which spacers were used, but that they were specially made.

Is anyone else running 20's?

Also, these are quite pricey ~$860 each.

http://www.fourtitude.com/news/publish/Features/article_2447.shtml</a

those would fit with a 20mm spacer, not as sharp looking though
