Default I just spent another 45 bucks to find out that the H&R spacers

that are hub centric aren't wheel centric. I should have guessed this. I was in a hurry putting them on the car, etc. I did a better job the tire shop that did such a lousy job, the car was bouncing about at 40..

What to do?? I want/need/must run the spacer for the winter wheels I have. Budget just doesn't allow for another set of correct offset wheels. I want to run the spacers year around, but don't want to put up with the aggravation of hand centering the wheels everytime one is pulled off the car.

The Alignment shop I finally went to says the lug bolts and taper aren't enough to center wheel. This got me thinking about what we put on our 1600 bmw race car. It has 320 front rotors on it which use the taper bolts like the audi. We changed it over to fixed bolts and lug nuts. This would solve the wheel centric problem on the Audi.

My question is, has anyone changed over to studs and nuts from the taper bolts on their audi?? Why/why not???

Default What kind of wheels are you using? OEM or Aftermarket?

Not sure whats wrong with your setup, I use mine all year around, and they fit like a charm on the 17" and 19". No problems at all, and they are H&R's, wheel and hub centric.
Could your lug bolts be too short? I remember that I had to exchange the wheel lock bolts that I've purchased, they were too short the first time.

Default the H&R's I had were wheel centric to the stock wheel.......

but not to the OZ 18's I used for summer. They came with a centering ring. Whatever H&R's you ordered should have been "stock" wheel centric and hubcentric and whatever wheels you have if they are not stock should be hubcentric or have rings that make them so.....

Default My snow wheels are aftermarket, so

they most likely are not set up to correctly center on the hub. I know the spacers do have the wheel centering ring on them, so I have hope now that they will center on the stock wheels this summer. I also purchased the H&R extended length bolts for the 15mm spacers, should be long enough. Next time I have to pull a wheel I'll take a closer look.

Default I have 2 sets of H&R spacers and they all work fine, for their application....

I run 15MM H&R behind the Hartmann Reps. Longer bolts, with a taper seat to match the wheels

For winter I run the stock wheels with 8MM H&R. These spacers witll NOT fit behind an aftermarket wheel because the taper of the lip is machined to match the OE wheels only:
<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/8639/hr_8mm_pn.jpg">

If you look at the back of your stock wheel, the center bore has a 45 degree bevel. If you look at the picture above, you'll see the 45 degree bevel machined on the spacer. This spacer will NOT work with most aftermarket wheels. This design is made in 8, 10, and 12mm configurations for Audi.

My 15mm spacers are hubcentric as well and are "wheel-centric" as you suggested. They work with both my Reps and my stock wheels.

You may need to get different spacers. What wheels do you have? What spacers have you been trying?

Default More.....

Don't know if you can read the part number on the box in previous picture, so here it is:
H&amp;R 8mm spacer p/n- 16255571
14x1.5 bolt, 35mm long, ball seat p/n- 1453502

That's the exact configuration I use behind my stock twin spoke wheels with no problems.

Default if you call tire rack, they can send you hubcentric rings for your aftermarket rims...

tell them what you have, what the center bore is on the rims, what center bore you need for youru spacers, and they will match them up and send it to you. They have a lot of that stuff in their computer, and can tell you what you need. Try to get a hold of Cole there, he knows his ****...and should be able to set you up.
