while bringing my ar in for 10k service. I asked
him about the hesitation issue and his answer was
politely, this condition has been engineered into the car and they do not intend to correct it. He
said to get used to it because most German cars
are being engineered with this "safety feature".
He also said the new 7 series and M model cars
are being "showcased" with this feature. I don't
get it!

I read something once about how good chauffeurs drive Bentleys and so on --- really, really smoothly, no jerks at all on starting, shifting, or stopping. Little do they know that we're all hot-rodders at heart. HPH

Safety feature, my a$$. Did this "engineer" have any explanation as to how making the vehicle less responsive to the driver would enhance safety? Did he also cite crappy distorted windsields as a safety feature ;-)
Geez - I would love to have the columnists from Car Magazine (UK) comment on this.
