I have 1100 mi. on my allroad now and I'm not overly happy with the brakes. They seem weak and mushy to me. It takes maybe 1" of brake pedal travel beore anything happens at all, and maybe another 1" before they relly start to bite. I remember test driving an A4 a couple of years ago and the brakes were very strong - "right at the top" is how the sales guy described it - very different than the allroad. Is this something that any of you have experienced? Is it an easy or common thing to have the dealer adjust the brakes so that they engage earlier and/or with more "bite"? It worries me a little bit, because I feel that the brakes as they are now increase my reaction time a little bit in emergency braking situations, compared to how I think they should feel, and the way other cars feel. With gas and passangers the allroad weighs in around 2 1/2 TONS, a lot to stop.

I guess I'll pay more attention but I've never felt the brakes weren't up to the job or unusual to operate.
