A friend of mine has about 25,000 miles on her ar and the Goodyears were done. She bought Continental Contitouring CH95 tires from Tire Rack for $81 each. She said they are quieter and handle better than the original equipment Goodyears. (Maybe they handle better than worn-out Goodyears) My previous A4s came with the Continentals and I have to agree they are a decent tire. What are your thoughts on putting a cheaper tire on your ar?

If you are familiar with the performance of the tires and drive within their limits you are making a reasonable decision. With some expensive tires, you are paying for advertising/reputation.
I feel that the min. to look for in tires are a Temperature and traction rating of 'A' and a reputable brand.
