Default Instrument Cluster

On the Tachometer dial 1/2 radius from the center at about the 10 o'clock position there is an indicator with the following symbols: left arrow, number 1, right arrow. The only time I see this symbol is when I use the left/right turn signal. This symbol would blink when use the turn signal pod. I can't find this feature in the documentation. Does anyone know about this feature and why is it there?

Yes it is the trailer turn signal indicator.
I haven't traced the schematic dia for this car yet, so I can't say how it works, but it probably involves a unique Audi connection harness (ar to trailer).

Default Doesn't involve any extra harness.............

....this light will flash in harmony with turn indicators when a trailer is plugged in.
Extra current drain for trailer indicators activates it. Primary reason is as a warning if trailer light fuses.
Have 2 of these on my tractor for 2 trailers

So the single blink of the green "<=1=>" indicator when I use the turn signal is normal? And what does the "1" indicate? Is there a "2" like in "<=2=>" for another trailer hitch? Thanks.

Help me out my torquetive friend.
Should there be a trailer wiring harness and connector somewhere at or around the rear bumper of my 03 ar?
Do you know if the ar electrics will operate with tailers that have separate turn signal and brake light filaments and also with those that use a common filament for turn and brake lights?
I've owned several Audi/VW diesels, all older tech, but good low speed torque none the less.
Would like to see 3.0 diesel mentioned as part of the 06 A6 propaganda in an ar. I'd buy it.

Default <-1->

I have a 2004 allroad and I just noticed the same <-1-> on the dash.

However, I also noted that it only comes on when I press the turn signal light half way doing a lane change.

I thought it meant turn signal blinking once?
