Default Jazzlaw -- update on Thule Aero bar availability

I got home a couple days ago, opened the waiting Rack Warehouse box and found that they had sent me the 761 bars even though the invoice indicated 861s. I called up and explained that I had been sent the wrong bars and that I should have actually received the 860 bars (thanks to muddycharles for that information). I was prepared to raise holy hell if they gave me any static, but I was told that they would fix things immediately and today I got the 860s.

It sounds like they'll quote you the official line about availability unless you really push them even though they apparently still have some Aero bars in stock -- hopefully your dad can still get some.

Default The RIGHT THULE BARS ARE THE 861

Guys
I finally got the 860 Thule Aero - and guess what ... it is the wrong size!
The 861's are the right size BUT you have actually CUT the guides inward by about 1/2 inch on each side.
Kinda sucks that the 860's are 1 inch too short and the 861's are 1 inch too long - so I had to buy a file and metal saw to get this done.
Im sending the 860's back today.

Default As a matter of fact,

when I went to put the bars on and took a closer look at the box, I noticed that most of the labels said 860, but the one on the end of the box said "861 -- 120cm" -- which is right in between the 108 cm and the 135 cm that you quoted before. They look like they'll fit fine.

Also, it looks like they were shipped directly from Thule -- maybe Rack Warehouse doesn't actually have any lying around but they can still have them shipped to you if you insist.

Default Neither did I, but

it seems there are three different lengths of Aero bar and some people have had the wrong one shipped to them.

Default Re: I need to buy this 861 and A755. Where?

Folks,
I have called rack warehouse and they informed me that they no longer selling this model. I am thinking about buying it from oversea (UK) and have my friend bring /ship them here.
I just want to have an absolute model.
Foot pack = 755 (or is it A755 or T755) ?
Aero bars = 861 (or 860 ?)

Thanks,
Scott
