Jeff - iPod install question and experience
Installed the iPod, interfacing directly to the head unit as in your post below and putting in a switch to swap between the iPod and CD Changer. Thanks again for that.
It appears that the CD has to actually be playing. So if you have no CD's loaded it won't work or once all your CD's play it will stop. The guys at the car stereo shop couldn't work out a way around it. Does that sound right?
As it is a headphone jack out the iPod volume control and Head Unit volume contol make up the end sound volume.
I have a phone cradle installed in the dash already so there is no natural place to mount the iPod. Instead I have a flexible cable so the iPod floats around in the bin next to the handbrake. I'll need to get a protective cover. Also got an iPod auto charger from drbott, which can plug into the rear charger which is very close.
The end result is fantastic. Fairly cheap and flexible MP3 solution with great sound quality.<ul><li><a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/allroad/msgs/16200.phtml">Jeff's original post</a></li></ul>
