Default Living in a place where it barely ever even rains the answer is still yes.

It all depends what you bought the car for.

99% of our driving is around the Phoenix summer melting pot. For this it is just an extra system on the vehicle which gives it handling qualities I like.

1% of our driving is on road trips to go camping or skiing. If you ever get to see Arizona people drive in the snow and ice you'd understand the quattro is absolutely worth it. This is not to go fast but merely to let you get out of the way of those that haven't grasped the concept of traction vs stopping.

Every time I go up to Sunrise for snow boarding without my wife I take my 101 with its big winch. I make good money pulling the nut jobs out of the scenery. On a good weekend I'll pull 10 vehicles out and that doesn't even put a dent in those that are merely stuck and haven't wrapped it round something solid.

Cheers
Gregor

Default I did.

San Diego has no weather unless you count the marine layer currently camped out overhead. I was looking for something that wasn't an SUV, could carry my bikes, drums, skis/boards, etc, had some luxury but also some ***** AND lastly, was fun to drive (6 spd).

The quattro isn't needed often but it's great peace of mind when driving to the Sierras and it's snowing.

Default Especially in Florida, for those days it rains after a week of hot sun and the

oils in the road make it feel like driving on ice. That's when quattro really shines.

Default ...then you pray it doesn't rain, as the very nicely equipped Infinity G35 (lovely to look at)

I drove on blacktop in the rain was awful.

Default oh you mean like "if Sparticus flew a Piper Cub" kind of thing:)

That's why the ar is so wonderful...it will go in rain, snow, sleet, dark of night (xenon's of course)...not that I want to deliver the mail in it but if you don't mind paying for the gas and putting up with the occasional trip to the shop you can't find anything out there that is as much fun and reasonably practical. IMHO
