Is it just me or is this "allroad kinda looking" car a real sweet looking vehicle?

my allroad has been in the dealer's body shot for two months waiting for parts. I am told they are hard to get because there are not many allroads to begin with (the dealer talking). This frustrates me since I love my allroad and I am not sure I will get totally reimbursed for my rental (way way past the 30 day limit) !!!

The harsh on-road ride would make the Fx45 absolutely useless offroad. There was no point in Infinity making the CG higher than needed, just to keep up the pretense of it being a "soft-roader". That it isn't... but 0-60 in 6.3s and .87g on the skidpad are very fine road-going numbers!
Given that it shares a chassis with the 350z and the G35, I'd expect they could have made it even more sporty as a pure wagon. Too bad they diddn't go that route...

overpriced, underdesigned, superhyped, yuppie ricebox.
Do you really think it will withstand its first 8 potholes?
For $45K base I would hope to get 20" dubs.

This really is a new Nissan/Infiniti...the old Infiniti with a QX4 rebadge of a reasonable car, the Pathfinder, is gone...this FX is really quite impressive.
Ok, $50k is fairly steep, I agree...but it is pretty appropriate for what one gets...IMO...that said, though, I'm not running out to buy one...

but it should do quite well in snow on-road...
I'm not sure it's a competitor directly for any Audi...but really for any luxury sedan that someone wants to be high-up and driving fast!

I wish they made it leather upholstery instead of "appointed"...but they do cover more area than many cars do.
The aluminum is real...not thin and crappy like on the Audi shift surround...and is real on the door handles and elsewhere (unlike other Infinitis)...except for the shiny plastic (that was still pliable, but not well textured), the interior is not cheap in any way.
I'm not saying it's better than an Audi, MB, or BMW...but I bet it spends less time in the service department.
Note: despite my infatuation with this FX45, I would still rather have a Pikes Peak.

Vehicle I was most shocked to see at the LA Auto Show -- the FX45. I had pretty much ignored blurbs about it in the magazines...but I sure was impressed in person. I agree that it looks better in person than in pictures. The interior is definitely near German in quality, and very progressive and functional in its design. Nissan/Infiniti and VW/Audi, IMO, are on fire with product innovation and keeping the price very competitive.
