Default Largest battery that fits?

Does anyone know the battery series number for the largest battery that fits in a 2001 allroad? It's time for a new battery and I notice the hold-down clamp can be moved out two positions from where it is now, so I must have one of the smallest batteries that can be used.

Are you running the D34 or the D27?

The largest batteries I was able to find which were available "locally" were these:

Interstate MTP-91 & Interstate MTP-93

MTP-93 is a monster. Fits as snug as a bug in a rug and spins up the 2.7T like a jetplane. Plus you can stop in to your friendly Interstate battery dealer and get it. Not cheap, was around $140? But I don't go cheap on batteries. Autozone actually carries a battery for our cars for around $100?

Stock battery is 94R type so get that. It is expensive ~140 anywhere you go.

FYI: Batteries Plus had a few different battery options in stock when I got mine last month. I went for their dry cell battery which was around $190 and required no adjustments.
