appears my oil leak is the driver side cam plug. Any one recommend a particular company to get the new plug from (if there are differences) and can I do the screwdriver trick to change it out?

best way is remove the valve cover and the bearing cap at the end and remove the plug, clean good, place plug and put a very very thing ammount of silicone on the bearing cap sealing surface and put back on. If you just pry out the plug and push a new one in it will leak very soon.

I'd do this if I were you.
http://allroadfaq.com/main/index.php...gine&Itemid=67
Do an entire gasket cover kit.
I got mine from Blau.

^I got that kit because it came with Cam Chain Tensioner Tools. And HOORAY free shipping.
Haven't installed it, but they are good people.
Are you close to a timing belt interval?

Amen for free shipping, if everything has been done recently except the cam plug? I would get the cam plugs at PURE Motorsport out of San Diego, Ca. ( www.purems.com ) I got 4 cam plugs including shipping for what others would charge for 1 or 2..
( $27.10)
PS: Ohh and DO NOT put any silicone on the cap, as this may alter the sealing and leak prematurely. when removing them, clean very thoroughly around the hole (That's what she said lol), to make sure it seals properly

I did the "screwdriver trick" when I replaced mine, and it was a huuuuuge bitch to get them out that way because of tight space. Getting new ones pressed in was also a huge bitch for the same reason. Depending on what removing the bearing covers entails I would lean more towards that.

removing the valve cover thats probably leaking too and remove 2 T30 torx bolts and lift off the cap. Driver side is 4 bolts and the 2 for the cam sensor and then off. I would absolutly NEVER do the pry and push in, what a waste of time. could have the cover off and cap off and back on with no frustration.
