Load ratings OE vs 245/50 Michelin.....
Someone questioned removing the stock allroad-specific tires because they thought the OE tires would be beefier or carry a higher load rating.
225/55-17 Goodyear Wrangler F1- 1609lbs
225/55-17 Michelin Pilot Sport A/S- 1609
245/50-17 Michelin Pilot Sport A/S- 1709
So the 245/50 has a higher load rating.

That's one of the reasons I chose it...
Since at the time, I had no idea that the 225/55 was so much taller than stock - I was weighing more subtle trade offs between it and the 245/50. Load bearing was one of the positives of the wider size. =)
