X POST - from my friends on the TT board -

Larry and I have come up with a plan to hold an impromptu 'Krispy Kreme Run & Charity Benefit' get together at the KK in East Meadow Long Island this coming Sunday afternoon September 23rd from 2-4 PM.
The idea is to get as many AudiWorld folk as possible (A4, S4, TT, allroad, etc.) to show up, bring their checkbooks, open their hearts, and to donate to the charity of their choice. We will be handing out flyers with a list of charities that are accepting donations related to the tragic events of September 11 2001 in New York City, Washington DC, and Somerset PA. We will have large envelopes with the address of each charity - we will stuff each envelope full of checks and then FedEx the envelopes overnight to each charity. We will include a cover letter in each envelope letting the charity know the reason why they are getting these checks. Also, since you write your check out to the charity of your choice, ALL the money goes directly to that charity. There are no gimmicks here - just a bunch of enthusiastic Audi folk giving to their fellow Americans in this time of need.
Some of the charities that we will be donating to:
- American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund
- NY Firefighter's 9-11 Disaster Relief Fund
- WTC Police Disaster Relief Fund
- United Way September 11th Fund
Anyway, all the details have yet to be worked out for this get together, so please stay tuned to the forum as we develop further details. And by all means, please try to attend this event! Let's do our part to help those in need right now and let's have a great time doing it!
Thank you in advance!!!
PS - If you need more info, please post it here or email me at: pgtt(at)auditt.org Please replace the (at) with the @ symbol... but of course, you knew that.
