I have searched the archives, though cant seem to find an answer to this... I have the original crossbars(part #4B9 071 151 666) I have lost the keys to the lock set(part #7M0 071 734) -- is it possible to get a replacement set of keys? my parts dept. seems to want to sell me a new lock set and destructively remove the old, is this the only way? who is the original manufacturer of these racks? is it possible to get a skeleton key from them? TIA

I took a look at my keys and it appears to have key code. The manufacturer of the rack (not Audi) should be able to replace them with that code. My keys say "Euro Locks". I tried to Google, but no direct hit.
I have used a locksmith in the past by bringing the item to thier shop and they will make a key the hard way. The guy I use charges $15-$25 depending upon difficulty. So check with your local locksmith.

Yup, the rack is made by Thule. Look at the part number of the lock cylinder which is etched on the outside of the lock cylinder and call Thule. I think they can provide you with a key. Audi can't help you at this point.

Does anyone still have the key for this roof rack? Would you mind taking a pic of your key. I'm trying to make a new key for my roof rack. I'm not sure what style of key I should use.
