hmmm, that's the first I've heard of a Bosch replacement battery. How was the fit? Did you have to cut or alter the hold down clamp? Bosch is the king of sensors so I would hope they'd make a decent battery as well. You have the 4.2L, I can only assume if I got the battery for the 4.2L It should have plenty of ooomph for the 2.7.

ADDED:
After more research there seems to be quite a few people who have gone with the Autozone Battery. Seems they list one for the 2.7L (94R-DLG) and a different one for the 4.2L (H8-DLG). The specs on their website seem to be similar:

94R-DLG - 730CCA - 912CA
H8-DLG - 760CCA - 950CA

H8 is $10 dollars cheaper.

Well Autozone had the Castrol synthetic 0W-30 but only in quart sizes. $8 per quart x 8 quarts is $64 + $16 for the filter......is it really going to cost me $80 to change my oil?! I hit up two autozones but neither one had the 0W-30 in the 5 quart bulk size, only quarts.
Of course I'm used to the 3000 mile oil change my Chevy's and Nissan's have required, but the Allroad is more like 5000-7500? If so maybe it'll divide out a little better cause I'm stroking out right now he he

After reading about the German Castrol I decided to change my '99 A4 2.8L over to it. Cleaned out my local AZ to get enough for the A4 and AR. In the past I had run Amsoil Euro 5w40 and it loved it, but it is $$$. Last change I decided to go cheap with Mobil 1 5w30 since it was on sale.

When I dumped the oil out of the A4 it was like water and valve train was a little noisy. I was amazed at how much the Mobil 1 sheared out of grade. After I put in the GC 0w30 the valve noise went away and idle got noticeably smoother (felt/sounded like my Amsoil). Think I might stick to the GC from now on and NEVER use Mobil 1 again. Changing the AR over to GC tomorrow.

Thanks for the confidence bump. I decided today to buy the Castrol 0W-30 from Autozone so that's what'll go in my Allroad for its first oil change.

Pepboys also carries Castrol 0w30 and they frequently have deal where you get 5 quarts and a filter for $25. I buy a set everytime at their store so I have 7-8 quarts on my shelves at any time.

Funny thing I just had a Pep Boys re-open down the street from me. THey were there, they went out of business for like 1-2 years, then they opened up another Pep Boys at the SAME exact location. It's kind of strange.
