Default Modifications Questions

After spending too much time searching the archives I have a question regarding warranties and chips. I currently have only 25k on an 05' so my warranty is till good till mid next year. I want to chip the car and am wondering if I should wait till after the warranty is up? I also want to buy an extended warranty next year - will that be voided by a chip installation? TIA

What does an APR flash accomplish? I'll start searching on that one now as well. Anyone have experience with Revo? We have a certified dealer/tuner here in NC that is talking me up on that.

Default You have a 2.7T? Chip will take you from 250 to over 300hp

91 Octane: 307hp/366lb-ft
93 Octane: 318hp/382lb-ft<ul><li><a href="http://www.goapr.com/Audi/products/ecu_upgrade_allroad.html">APR allroad ECU link</a></li></ul>

Default I would probably choose whoever can serve you best, but...

I like my APR since I can turn if on and off with the turn signal stalk. No need to buy some GIAC tool or specail trips to the REVO guy.

I've already turned it off at a gas station where they only had 91 octane, since i have the 93 tune. It's nice to have options without depending on others.

The is a certain value though to having the backing of a local shop, should problems develop. Your Revo guy may be the best palce to go for service, should you buy an extended warranty. I'm sure if there was a judgment call on an issue, his evaluation would fall your way.

Saw that with the APR. My independent said he could do a free 5 hour flash. Does that basically give a free tryout of the chip/software deal? Idiot question but I assume you don't want to run 87 octane on a 91 octane APR?

Default Buy the hightest octane you can for max performance. Yes, they do have free trials.

As for 87 octane on a 91 chip, I hope the knock sensors still work so if you can't find the octane you need, the engine adjusts and prevents damage.
