Default More wobble talk

I too have the wobble on acceleration so while adding more anti-squeel to the mintex red, I decided to check the cv joints. Sure enough, the passenger side inner CVs shows movement. It will click back and forth maybe slightly more than 1/8 of an inch. Will new inner CV joints solve the wobble or should I get new axles?

Default Just a bit more clarification....

when you say click back and forth, are you seeing "play" along the long axis of the shaft or perpendicular to? Actually in either case, there will always be some play due to tolerances. It's just a matter of how much play, I guess.

Default holding the outer CV joint (closest to the wheel)

there is no movement. Holding the inner joint, there is movement. If I hold the axle in the middle, I can feel movement from the inner cv joint. Not sure if that helps with the diagnosis.

Default The inner joints are not CV's as normally thought of but instead are a tripode design..

It is alledgedly a swine to rebuild assuming parts are actually available. Most of use just go the Raxle route if we find play.
Axial play is not an issue as it is necessary due to the suspension.
Radial play is an issue. If you are in any doubt remove the axle and test by hand on the bench. If you can feel play with the axle on the car it probably needs replacement.

Default just examined the driver's side, no play at all

I guess I have to see about getting the inner passender CV joint or entire axel replaced.
