My gripe: keeping the rear window clear.

How the heck do you keep the rear window clear on an allroad?
We have had a pretty mild winter here in the Midwest, but I cannot seem to figure out a way to keep the slop, rain, snow, dust, etc. from accumulating on the rear window while driving. And the slit cleared by that pathetic toy called a rear wiper might be fine for looking back at the poor schmucks stuck in their SUVs in the ditch, but is hardly adequate for backing up the driveway and into the garage.
I am a firm believer in Rain-X but with no air movement across the rear window it does little to help. Which brings me to my search.
I thought maybe a roof spoiler, A6 Type C5 Wagon from TMTuning.com or an OEM might be better, but the post from allroad'Ed now on 2006-12-06 15:22:52: "Does change the flow pattern over the rear window. In salty winter weather, I get more crap built up on the window, so it must be doing it's job and creating a negative pressure area under the spoiler." changed my mind on that.
The older Suburbans had a little spoiler that seemed to direct air down the back. Is there similar for the allroad? Is there something else I should be looking for? Doing?
TIA.

build up on the windshield because I have it. No more no less really... I'm on gravel roads in the summer and the rear window gets covered in dust and gets covered with snow in the winter. JUst the way it is gonna be...Keep a good fresh triple blade wiper on and that is the best you can do (IMHO).
I don't think it is THAT bad seeing out the wipers clean path...
