Default My headlight has kicked the bucket.

Burnt out HID light. Turned purple yesterday and today it doesn't seem to turn on at all. From what I recall you have to replace the entire headlight (housing and all). Is that correct?

I sure hope not. I just lost the passenger side HID and ordered a new pair of D2S 4300K bulbs. I purchased them from The Retrofit Source and they were shipped out the same day. A pair of Phillips 85122+ bulbs is only $100 + shipping through them. That's by far the cheapest price I've come across for D2S HID bulbs.

You do NOT need a whole assembly, just a new bulb. It is a good idea to order in pairs as typically they have very similar shelf lives. We stock a wide selection of bulbs here, click click. What is nice about HID's is that you can select different/brighter color ranges. We currently have 6,000K D2S HID Bulb Sets for 10% off; they are a more intense bulb than standard D2s lights without being too 'blue.'

Let me know how they work. Hard to beat that price.

Default 2nd on the replace in pairs. Does that 6k lamp

still show the full array color grid (did that make any sense). A good HID lamp will show yellowish at its lowest degree (out front on the ground) and get brighter and whiter, then eventually to a blueish hue as it hits horizontal.

A nice bright white color pointing on the ground is worthless when it is wet the light does not reflect back to the driver as it should.

On our Ziza 6k bulbs the color wash is very very minimal, if any at all. We have a few people here who drive with the 6k bulbs and in either car they keep a good 6k color saturation through the whole spectrum of the projection. I have driven with them in the rain and not noticed an reflection loss either. I know that isn't a terribly scientific response but it is my experience with our particular Ziza bulbs.
