my theory on lag... am I close? (for the confused newbie)

For sure, punch it at 1500 rpm in 2nd and there's not much going on........
and as you go by the low 2's things start to happen in a hurry. But I've driven other turbo charged cars. The 2.7 engine does not have turbo lag compared to others. Even a n.a. motor will "come on to the pipe".
