Default search the allroad forum for pix etc....this topic comes up a lot. :)

You need to fish your hand around the back of the black bracket that holds the tool kit.

You are looking for a round 13 pin DIN connector ....that is probably wrapped in a grey piece of foam.

On another note, Phil mentioned that he test drove your allroad up in MA at that Automax. See my posts in navplus.us or AW for how to install the RNS-E nav system. It's the best $1400 that you can spend your your car....and well worth the upgrade. If you were in MA, I could install one for you in about 1:30. You should be able to locate a few folks in the VA/MD area that can help you with the install etc. Drop me a line and we can chat later.

Default the nav in his car is what's got me looking into that

I got the full tour of it in his A6. For the same price as an aftermarket exhaust, I think I'd get a ton more use and enjoyment out of the Nav. I'll let you know.

Default yes...I installed the older Nav+ in phils car. For a 2002+ ar, the RNS-E is well worth the $$.

...you should find someone in the VA/MD area with the RNS-E and check it out. I think arob (from this site) has a 2005 ar with the US RNS-E...and he lives in the tyson's corner area.

drop me an email etc if you have any questions. 100% of your questions can be answered via reading my the stuff in my sig.

Default thanks for the info... (I FOUND THE PLUG!!!)

this morning I made another attempt at finding the CDC plug and sure enough it's there. Although it wasn't attached to the bracket, it was tucked to the left (back of the car) down under the silver canister. So that means the Phatbox will be ordered today.

When I was talking to Phil he said that he gets down to my area on biz every now and then and offered to help ouot with the Nav install when I decide to do it. Guess you taught him well.

I'll hit up arob and see if I can take a peek at his. Is it the newer unit that the screen opens and has two memory card slots? What are those used for anyway? Music, pics?
