I am looking to get a 2005 Allroad but they aren't available with
NAV+ for another couple of months, so I was wondering if it's worth waiting for as opposed to getting it without the NAV+ and buyng one of the Garmin GPS?

I suspect there will never be an allroad that is made with NAV+. Why would Audi go to the trounle of redesigning the dashboard only to discontinue the whole model line two months later. Could be wrong, but if you wait for an allroad with NAV+ you probably will not be getting an allroad, allright?

The dealer assured me that the 2005 allroads WILL be
available with the new NAV system just like in the 2005 A6 DVD-based. I am just not sure if I should wait for it.

It would require no redesign to the dash. That is how people can order the NAV+ units from Europe and install them on the US version allroads. The NAV+ is very nice and if you have no desire to move a GPS system from one car to another go for it. If you think you may want the GPS in a different car then the answer is clear go with the Garmin. I haven't asked about the NAV+ option in an allroad here so I don't have any info on if it will ever happen. It would be great if it would. Heck in Europe you can get the NAV+ in all Audis as far as I know. Not 100% sure on the A2 but I know it's available on A3 and up. Although now with the new design A6 & A8 it's integrated a lot more than the old NAV+.

I have the older style, yours will be the DVD based one which is EVEN NICER!! Of course I get lost going down the street to the grocery store, but still it's a very helpful tool. It's all integrated into your car (and trip computer) and is far superior to an garmin add on imo. Only a couple of months? Definitely wait.
